Roger Hill Displays Military Lanterns at National Convention
Roger Hill
Those of us who know Roger Hill, the glue behind our Red Warrior Association, are fully aware that he tends to have his irons in multiple fires. Likewise are his hobbies, one of which is collecting and restoring old Military Coleman lanterns.
Recently Roger displayed his lantern collection at the International Coleman Collector's Club in Madison, WI, June 18-20. And quite a collection he has.
Over 200 lantern enthusiasts walked the aisles, some of whom came from over seas to attend.
Roger also exhibited a series of single-burner stoves called the M-1950 Stove.
“Even though there were many people there who had been collecting Coleman lanterns for years, some had no idea that there were five other manufacturers besides Coleman.” Said Hill.
Like any good hobbyist, Hill said that he returned home with more than he brought…always looking for that rare lantern that he doesn’t have.
